Our Story

Candice & I have an amazing marriage, 3 beautiful children and a fiery passion to be used by God to transform our city one individual at a time. Our story hasn’t always been beautiful.  It is one marked by heart break, pride and paralyzing doctor’s diagnosis. Despite the struggles, we will tell you, God takes our human mess and turns it into a miracle. We believe if He can do it for us, He can do it for you!

Cape Coral became our home the Summer of 2006. I was hired as the youth pastor and Candice was hired as the Worship/Arts Pastor. Fast Forward 3 years, the economy experienced a devastating collapse and we were thrust into a church restoration.  Moving trucks were on every corner. It felt like a ghost town and our church was a hurting, abandoned ship.
That year, 2009, as a young 20 something, I was asked to step into the role as lead pastor. I sought advice from mentors and friends. The advice was, get out while you can. While I was questioning staying, God was speaking to Candice. After much prayer (and finally listening to my wife) we decided to plant our roots deep here in the Cape and become lead pastors. Against all odds, we chose Gods plan. Miracles followed and God healed us and our Church family in ways that only He could. It was never easy, but it was worth it.

Today, Cape Assembly stands tall as a restored and redeemed church full of people that have found new life and new hope in Christ! Pursuing God and stepping into our purpose we are making room as more are coming!  We are made up of the broken and the bruised, the redeemed and the rescued. We are not perfect nor will you ever hear us claim to be. There’s room at the table for the sinner and the saint! In our search for significance and meaning, we believe that the best thing we have going for us isn’t living for ourselves, it’s living out our God designed purpose to love Him and love others!

That may look like just showing up and for someone else that may look like leading a life group. Whatever that looks like, your time is too short, your calling is too great and our God is WAY too good to ignore your purpose this side of Eternity!  While each of our stories are unique, our calling is the same, to change our World by loving God and loving His people! I can’t wait to see how we do it together!
